A few modest updates here, most of whom nobody had.
First, one that's a little near and dear:
Tony Horwitz, a Wall Street Journal reporter who wrote
Confederates in the Attic a book for which I have a soft spot for no particular reason. If you can find it I recommend you check it out.

here. It's gonna be tough to read on a phone, but what's striking is that very same article could be written today.
Of course, there's also
Bill Buckner, who once said this:
