Who was Roger Dionne? Who was Roger Dionne?

When you search for Winning Poker, which turned into the Theory of Poker, Roger Dionne was listed as a co-author with David Sklansky.

In ToP, Dionne's name disappeared, so was curious if there's more about Dionne, who wrote a series of articles on poker, backgammon, video games and more.

I had a copy of that book along with other early books by David and Mason. IIRC Dionne was a technical writer that helped David in some way. Winning Poker had the same concepts as TOP but wasn't written as well.

In our recent interview DS told the origin story of this book, and IIRC he addressed this: https://www.thinkingpoker.net/2020/0...avid-sklansky/

Very interesting podcast. The story of the book is recounted but no reference is made to Dionne. But there is no real mystery. DS 'strong-armed' the publishers and they probably insisted on a co-credit for Dionne who probably did some grunt work with editing etc.

DS comes out very well in the podcast. I think I have not always encountered the best DS on this site.
