Professionalpoker, can you confirm that the errors found in the PDF version will be corrected in the epub version? Will the PDF version be updated too?

As of now the ePub will have the same content as the PDF. As Matthew updates the errata we will update the first post in the discussion thread to keep it easy to find.

@Finn. As I noted in my reply to you we are apples/oranges wrt Amazon. We use an outside service to provide the Adobe Content Server and the file conversions. There currently is no method of auto updating everyone, but should there be a new edition of the book and someone that previously purchased a copy requests an update, I will provide a coupon code so that can be obtained for $5 or less.

I am also going to discuss this with the outside company to see if the upgrade process can be improved upon, for example, see if the original dl links can be reactivated at no charge, but I am afraid that there may be technical roadblocks to that. I'll let everyone know what I find out.

Just so you know I bought the book, downloaded it to my iPhone and am reading it no problem, blue fire works great. Thanks for the excellent ebook at a great price. I too wanted a kindle version (mainly because it doesn't lock you into hardware there is a kindle app for every device). But this PDF format works just fine. Thanks again!

We can't produce a Kindle format book with DRM - Only Amazon can do that, and they should at some point. Our license allows the book to be installed in up to 3 devices as long as they all use the same Adobe ID.

Thanks ProfessionalPoker, I will definitely be getting the epub version of the book as soon as it is available then. I'm glad that you are making arrangements for people that get the first version of the digital books to update when/if the book is revised for errors - I have purchased many many electronic books, and the ones that have ever been updated were the books from Amazon or Google and one epub from an author who is no longer welcome on this forum. All the other epub publishers just expect people to purchase the full book again when they update, which I think is unreasonable.

Have you investigated selling the epub through the Google Play store? I haven't done so myself (not being an author of books), but with apps (which I do write), releasing a new version is quite painless and everyone that has my apps gets updated magically with no effort on my part.

I contacted amazon about selling this book on kindle and they advised me to contact the publisher and ask them to make a kindle version available.

I have 3 computers,desktop mac-pc laptop and an ipad.
I use all 3,with kindle i have no issue with downloading the same book to all 3.
Will this be possible with the epub version?
I have no experience with downloading books on these other apps.

You'll need to obtain an Adobe ID.

Once you do that, you can associate it with up to six devices.

You download the book once and can then copy it to other devices. As long as the new devices are associated with the same Adobe ID as the unit you originally downloaded to, you will be able to open the book on them.

For anyone with an older iOS, I found 'Better World eReader' that is a white label Bluefire Reader that hasn't been updated to the latest version and allows older iOS's.

I have read bad reports on ADR and blue fire for the ipad.

Problems with pages loading,the zoom,it's slow etc

I use kindle,i have never had a problem syncing books and it runs 100% all the time on all devices,pity they couldn't just release it on kindle.

I contacted amazon in regards this book and they said i should contact the publisher myself.

I have no idea if 2+2 will be releasing the book on Kindle or not.

However, if they don't plan to it is surely because of Amazon takes an excessive commission whenever the price of a Kindle book is over $10.

So, you might want to contact Amazon instead and complain about their squeezing authors and publishers.

i had ordered last month from UK Amazon. This morning i got an email saying that they hoped to deliver it by this saturday and i got an email an hour or two ago saying that it was now in the post. So Amazon UK have some but must be fulfilling current orders as their site still says temporarily out of stock.

The low royalty rate that you're talking about isn't true in our case because we don't go through Kindle Direct Publishing. However, we do pay a price for not using Kindle Direct Publishing in that it can take a long time before Amazon will get the conversion done. So even though Amazon now has the appropriate files from us to convert to a kindle, I suspect it will take a while.

On the other hand, if what you state about royaties was not accurate, we would then go through their more direct procedure and you would see a kindle for this book fairly quick.
