Switching to PLO, advice? Switching to PLO, advice?

Not really switching, just want to add another game to my arsenal to play at the casino.

I'm a modest winner (non-crusher) at NLHE over 700 hours. I played a couple of sessions of PLO recently and went OK nut peddling. The game seems weaker than NLHE in that even the reg-infested sessions see an average of 5 or 6 callers in every pot.

I'm currently reading Jeff Hwang's Big Play Strategy.

What material would you recommend for learning how to beat the PLO micros online (which I want to do for training purposes) and low stakes live PLO? Hwang's book looks awesome for nut-peddling in weak full ring live games but it also looks pretty outdated for online.

His intro book, is just that. His other advanced books are excellent and much more in depth.

PLO is a game of drawing to the nuts and figuring out what to do when you didn't make it and your opponent didn't either.

You also need twice the bankroll at least for PLO (40-50 buyins min). You can easily repeatedly stack off in a situation where you only have 40% equity or less multiway.

I read that Jeff Hwang book when I started to play PLO but I feel like that was 10 years ago?

Three reasons why there are so many players in every live PLO pot:
1. Equities run so much closer together preflop
2. Nits/OMC usually avoid that game
3. Even less hands per hour than NLHE. Just count the hands you play in a session, you might end up somewhere between 15-20 in a game with a couple new players. Folding in PLO is even more boring than in HE.
