A physical warm up, no. But I think I should have given thought to what I was going to do last night. A mental warm up, in other words.
Although a physical warm up might not have hurt either as I have only played once since last year and I was stiff when I got up after three hours.
What hands to play in what position are covered by strategy books and not mental game books and the ones I have read say you should have a solid playing foundation.

Reason: Getting old SUCKS. I use to play about six hours a night, seven days a week and did that for about two and a half years.
