I was just browsing on Amazon and noticed a new tells book by an author named Zachary Elwood.

I normally would dismiss this title but it has positive testimonials from Kathy Liebert.

Reading Poker Tells

Anyone heard of this book or have read it? Is it any good?

haven't read it and don't care what liebert says but the fact that 2+2's own Limon said "It's hard work to find tells, so many people don't do it. This book just made it a lot more simple, condensing years of legwork into one easy read." makes me want to pick it up

Published April 1, 2012 and no kindle edition?????? It's 2012 this is a serious mistake. Reading the reviews it looks decent but it would need to be amazing for me to purchase it in traditional form.

It'll be available as an ebook soon. I just wanted to make a couple corrections to the manuscript that some people pointed out, and add a few paragraphs. It'll be a few weeks.

I'm somewhat the opposite as I like books to be in the traditional format. Thanks to the author for getting it published that way.

Thanks to the OP for creating this thread and showing me there are some interesting new, non-tournament poker books out there now.

Thats cool Doc. I just like getting all the good stuff on my Kindle. I use to drag a stack of poker books on my 2 week trip I take to vegas every year. Those are now past memories. Now I pack a few magazines and my Kindle.

I just want authors to know they are loosing sales by not having an e-book format. Fortunately this is not this case with this book.

You are welcome Doc.

It's primarily for live play. The only part that would apply to online is the bet-timing section, which is not a large section.

Definitely need the kindle format. I won't buy regular books anymore. I read a book a week and don't have room in my house for more books.

kindle format or NEXT!

After seeing it mentioned somewhere, I looked it up on amazon and had only excellent reviews. I will be getting this in the future for sure. Has anyone not found it super useful?

Picked up my first tell that I was really 100% on at Borgata this weekend after reading this book.

Villain sitting directly across from me would play with his cards where he would constantly swap them by having one card under his middle finger and the other under his thumb and would swap them back and forth when he didn't have a hand.

It's noted in the book as weakness and it was dead on with this guy. The best part is he was aggressive so I would call him down every street with anything and repop him on the river when he was playing with the cards like this and he folded every time.

When he had a hand he wouldn't even have his hands on the table, instead having his hand holding his face up when he had a nice hand. Once I called him down and it went runner runner diamonds on turn and river putting 4 to a flush out and he stopped playing with his cards as the river hit and went back to holding his face so I knew he had the ace of diamonds.

Book was extremely helpful and I recommend it to anyone. Book paid for itself after one hand with this guy.

Wow I thought Navarros was easily the best poker book period I've ever read so I'll have to consider reading this one.

very good book & it is an easy read. it makes keeping track of tells in live games easier & the categorization along w/correlation makes tons of sense. the reviews @cardrunner, Amazon & other places are outstanding. i would rate this book 9.1 on a scale of 1-10 & it wouldn't take much to get a 9.9 rating

Hi all... I posted one of the early reviews at Amazon.

To keep it short.... the best thing about this book is that it is structured in a way that makes it very easy to understand the reasons behind all of the tells. this allows you to easily remember the tells later plus even potentially formulate your own new tells.

I love Caro but he just didn't do as good of a job in this area. This book is a 21st century update of Caro's fabulous book.

I can share all of this since I only have time to play online so I don't care as much if all you live chubs get better
