In chapter “bankroll management”; he says avoid casinos who take $5 rake in $1-2 games. Does he instead mean 5% instead of 5$? Since he wrote 5% in the example a little later.
I looked at several games in pokerstars, and almost all had 5% rake; meaning we shouldn’t play any of them...
Really thankful for any help here.

If you live in vegas then he probably meant 5$ since you can find better table from what I heard. In Canada and in Europe, rake goes up to 10$ to some times 40$ max. Which is like wayyyyyyyyyyy to much. Poker is still beatable at 10$ rake but you must be crushing the field and your opponents must be really bad.
Otherwise I don't know what he really meant.
