McEvoy writes in an easy going style and presents a strategy that is rudimentary and assuredly flawed in some respects but a lot of what would later be looked at in depth is found here eg he advises if you are a little low in chips then whenever you get a decent enough hand you have to go with it. Kill Everyone analysed that situation in depth.
There is stuff he understands (fold equity) but for which he does not have the terminology.
Much of it is biography. He also mentions a "top player" called David Sklansky. I wonder whatever happened to him?
Using Mason's scale of 1-10. This is a seven which means that you can all live and prosper without reading it.
