That's odd. I've always found that the 2+2 bindings were the cheapest possible. Several of my old 2+2 books have "cracked", with pages coming out. I've repurchased two of them (both seven stud books). Right now, my "Theory of Poker" is cracked. And furthermore, the 2+2 books were bad before the era of universally bad bindings (e.g, it took years before the chess books started being published with bad bindings).

I think you must have gotten lucky.

Arrrggggh, that's me. I've repurchased a few, and have at least one that has a failed binding currently- and that one certainly wasn't purchased before the NLHE explosion. Unfortunately, I never knew about any replacement offer. But it will be good to know that my newer 2+2 purchases won't be falling apart as easily ---- if it's really so.

Color me skeptical until I own a 2+2 book that holds up for multiple readings over time!

Our binding problems were completely solved several years ago and they are now superior to any other publisher in our field. We use superior PUR glue which as far as I can tell no one else is using, and are now on the best binding machine I have ever seen, (and I have seen a bunch of them). Unfortunately, books can sometimes stay in the system for a long time, and not all our printings sell out quickly.

Well this is very good to hear, because the binding problems have always been a source of irritation to me. I guess I'm safe with the four books I've purchased over the past two years (2 Harrington books, SSHE, NLHETAP) - and safe going forward - but I consider the other 9 or 10 2+2 books that I own to be at risk with every reading.

I think of Harrington as more of a Hannibal Lecter than a Dirty Harry. Old guy, soft spoken, & starting at you, reading you ready to rip your heart out at the next hand.

So is the price $30 each, plus 5% off if you enter the code?

Ordered mine, was a bit suprised they charge your credit card when you place the order and not when the item actually ships

Uhoh, I just ordered mine. Didn't know about the code and shipping was $26.46 with Priority Mail to Europe. Looking forward to the release.

I can't wait for these books, I loved Harrington on holdem.

I am a cash game player so would find any of this insightful.

The reason for that is credit card account security. We don't see or store any customer credit card info on the site or at our office. It gets encrypted and sent right to the payment processor. This way we don't have to deal with the security or liability issues of stored credit card account info.

Re: Harringtons cash books -pre order.

Couple of pre-release ordering notes and FAQs.

Since its on the first page of the thread and a few folks missed it, the discount code for 5% off is HOC22.

International buyers, If its only a few dollars difference between First Class and Priority mail, go for Priority mail. You will be much happier with the faster service. Priority mail will track at least to its departure from the USA and in major cities, all the way to the destination. First class is low priority, last out of the country and last to get through customs a and will not track at all.

Here is my form letter to the folks that have been asking shipping questions:

We ship worldwide.

Shipping cost is available on the shipping link within each item's detail page. For multiple items, add them to the shopping cart, enter your shipping address, and on the next screen, before you enter payment info you can see the cost of the various shipping options.

For international buyers, if your order is under 4 lbs you will have the option of International First Class. This is the least expensive and slowest option. It is very unpredictable. I have seen transit times from 1-8 weeks depending on receiving county. Average is 2.5 weeks. There is no tracking.

International Priority mail tracks to the departure from the US then continues to track in major countries/cities. Time in transit is 5-21 business days. Average in 10 business days. Express mail should track to delivery and takes 3-10 days with the average being 5 business day. For Express Guaranteed we actually use Federal Express and that is 2-4 business days in transit. We have negotiated some discounts with Fed-Ex and when possible we rebate/refund the savings to the customer.

All time in transit estimates subject to postal, customs, weather, labor (and any another problem you can think of) delays. Once we get it out the door we have no control over the time in transit. If everything is in stock, and it should be unless it is a pre-release order item, your order will ship by the next business day, same day when possible.

Best Regards,
Mike

I see. If that's the real and only reason you bill at the time of order, then perhaps you'd be willing to send me all the interest that would be earned on everyone's prepayments between the time they were billed and when the book actually ships?

Don't pre-order if it bugs you so much.

I guess all your poker sites are giving you a rate of interest while your funds are sitting in their coffers?

Hi Mike

I have preordered the Dan H books but I cannot remember whether I chose First Class or Priority mail. How can I check my order?

Cheers
