Erroneous logic there.
You have to pay those fees regardless of whether you bill before or at order fulfillment. It's just one of your many costs of doing business - the cost of being able to sell to customers who pay with credit cards. If you don't like the credit card fees, then you have the option of not accepting them but given the nature of your business that would probably be a huge mistake. I'm a business owner myself so you won't get me to play the violin for you just yet.
While I appreciate your intent to protect our credit card information, the fact remains that you're also reaping the benefit of a free loan in the process when you bill before fulfillment.
It's really not a big deal to me (I've already preordered the Harrington books), but I am a tiny bit suspicious that "the reason" you bill immediately at order and not at fulfillment is solely to protect our credit card information.
