Are these good books still for mtts? I kinda wanna read them just to read. I’ve already read kill everyone so just wanna know if Harrington’s mtt book is still relevant for today’s game?

I was an online reg and just want to read an mtt book to see what he Hamid to say. Good quality book or nah game has passed that thinking from many years ago?

IIRC the first volume is extremely basic and probably no longer very useful, but the second one is a gem. It was the second poker book I ever read (after Super System), circa 2008, and it made my tournament game massively better overnight. I suspect it's still pretty solid. Not sure I ever read the third volume.

All that being said, Harrington did feel the need to write a follow-up book (Modern Tournament Poker), so perhaps the second volume is best read in concert with the follow-up.

In your opinion is Vol. 2 of his original series even worth reading along side his updated book? I wonder if the new book just cancels out a lot of whats in volumes 1&2 of his original books?

Vol. 2 contains a lot of theoretically sound content that should hold up well over time, or at least that was my strong impression upon reading it years ago, for whatever that is worth. I haven't read the most recent book but I think both are probably worth checking out.

Is there anyone out there who has read Harrington’s most recent tournament book and who could comment on this? Just curious to hear players thoughts on this.

All of harrington's books, with the exception of the online 6-max one, are gold.

I recommend reading and rereading all of them, including the cash game volumes.

"Harrington on Modern Tournament Poker" is IMO a really solid book. It's definitely more on the exploitive side vs the GTO side, but that seems appropriate for most tournament play.

It does contain a lot of of hand examples for each section. Some think this is tedious, I actually think it's good, because it gives ample opportunity to test yourself.

Well before doing integral you need to learn how to count basic 2+2 = 4 regardless, right ?
Good foundation holds a long time ...
It’s the after part that changed a lot more .
So if u need fondation go for it .
