Just wondering what are people's thoughts on this new book.

http://www.dandbpoker.com/product/jo...o-limit-holdem

I have Hellmuths books and they are not great, I have read some books of one or two others which are good. Looking forward to Liv Boeree has written..
They are all way better than me so I'm sure I'll learn something.

It seems the information in this book is already out there in other books. That said, if Jonathan Little is behind this, then I´m sure I´ll get something out of it, as I have from other books of his.

While some of the info is similar to other books, the vast majority of it is new. I learned a TON working with all of the authors and I am confident all readers will too.

This appears to be primarily a tournament book?

It is a book on No-Limit Hold'em, although some chapters will pertain primarily to cash games and others will pertain primarily to tournaments.

This book is full of advice from leading poker experts on how to study, play & master NLHE.

I am going to consider buying this book, once I've absorbed everything in this thread on 2+2 that gives you some great advice on that very topic for free:

Getting closer to the release of this book, really looking forward to it.
Just wondering Jon, what way is it layed out?
Does each player talk about specific strategy, stages of the game, even their experience playing poker.

Final table play – Jonathan Little
Heads-up play – Olivier Busquet
Game theory optimal play – Will Tipton

He also done a lot of crap back then for the cameras and maybe he hadn't honed the power of the white magic yet

If you do not get the book because you think one of the authors is not good at poker (despite $18,000,000 in live cashes) you will miss out on tons of amazing information. Even if you only get something out of one of the chapters, the book is well worth the price.

Really looking forward to Busquet's chapter.
Tipton also but i fear that it will be a very basic introduction to game theory as it relates to poker.

That's not what I'm saying, simply pointing out the contrast between good short stack play and Phil Hellmuth. The book itself might be good value, didn't say anything about that.

Did they actually collaborate on this chapter, or is it two entirely separate articles?

They wrote it together although it is clear when each person is talking. They compare and contract old school versus new school short stack strategies.

Fwiw there is very little I did not 100% agree with in the book. I am completely happy with it and I am sure the vast majority of readers will love it.

The book will be released at a lunch party at the WSOP on 6/13/2015. It will be available for sale in bookstores and online either on that day or shortly after. I am not sure on the exact release date of the kindle version but it will be either when the physical book is released or shortly after.
