Just joined and my first post here.

I’ve been playing for about 2-3 years now, almost all online. Up until about a month ago I was a consistent losing player. I’ve probably dumped somewhere in the region of 5-10k in online games. I typically play .10/25, .25/50, .50/1, and when I’m feeling stupid I play 1/2$. I play 75% cash games and 25% tournaments. About 2 months ago I decided to actually study the game and not just play play play. I have read essential poker math and split suits preflop math workbook. I also purchased Peter Clarke’s video series (From the ground up) on run it once. But I am looking for my next book to jump into. Looking for something solid, and relevant to today’s games. I would like to move from that beginners stage to an intermediate player that is confident in his craft. My work schedule allows me to play a lot at home and study at work. There are so many different options out there it’s almost intimidating. I looked at Peter Clarke’s the grind see manual, pokers 1%, among others. So with all that, what should be my next read? TIA.

I am a huge fan of Modern Poker Theory. Easily one of the best single volume books I’ve read. For the price I don’t think you can beat it. I’ll warn you that it can be a tough read though. I am a huge theory nerd though so I love it. I haven’t read Sklanskys stuff in years but when I first started playing Theory of Poker really set a solid theory foundation for me. I think it’s still considered a staple in poker theory but others might have better thoughts on it.

I liked play optimal poker by Brokos. His books are straight to the point.
