Book Recommendation For a New Player

Greetings,

A buddy of mine just recently got the “Poker-bug” from watching this year’s WSOP Main Event that was on TV last week. He wants to learn how to play MTT’s and the advice I gave him was to read Dan Harrington’s original volumes 1&2, mostly because that’s what I did.

He knows how to play holdem, that part wasn’t hard to learn, but did I give him good advice on study material?

Thanks!

Well it won’t hurt for sure ...
Never bad to reinforce basics sometimes anyway .
You might even surprise yourself when u read a book more than once .

It’s probably fine .

Just read books and develop your own critical thought. I have seen here good recommendations and bad recommendations, but in the end when you read study and play you will develop your on opinion on the game which is the most valuable thing you can get.

I completely agree with this^^^^It’s just that he is starting out and doesn’t have enough of his own thoughts and/or opinions to really put ANYTHING together just yet.

I just wanna point him in the right direction for starters.
