I'm looking for a good cash game book anyone have any suggestions? Thanks...trying to make a living playing poker

I like 'The Course' by Ed Miller.

I'm currently reading Dynamic Full Ring poker by James "Splitsuit" Sweeney. It's a recent book, good layout and quite informative. I'm liking it so far. PM if you're interested.

The best I read on (online) cash is "The Grinder's Manual" by Peter Clarke (Carroters). It's 2016 so it's quite recent and packed full with theory and practical examples.
Now I'm reading it's sequel "100 Hands" which is also good.

Thanks everyone, yeah I keep hearing splitsuit and Miller are good authors and I will try the other guy.

2011 is not recent in the poker world.

What has changed in game structure since 2011?

I’m about to dig into Grinder’s Manual myself, so would you recommend both that and 100 Hands?

Is “The Grinder’s Manual” applicable for live full-ring or is it just good for 6-max on-line?

I just bought it. The title says “The Grinder’s Manual: A Complete Course in Online No Limit Holdem 6-Max Cash”

So it’s structured around that, as a textbook type style. I’m sure anyone could really benefit from it

Professional No Limit Holdem by Miller, Flynn, Mehta, and No Limit Holdem Theory and Practice by Sklansky and Miller are good.

I like the Beat the Donks series. I may read that a second time.

+1. I think Beat the Donks and The Mental Game of Poker have helped from the perspective of things not to do in poker. Most books give you the theory and practical advice of what to do without explaining that keeping your head in the game and playing an ideal percentage of hands preflop are very important also. Ed Miller's seven easy steps to no limit success in his SSNLHE book also helped me get a general idea of things to do and not to do in SSNL cash. Finally, The Intelligent Poker Player by Phillip Newell is an excellent more recent book that delves into GTO and exloitative play which I think is necessary to become a successful hold'em player at whatever variant you are playing.

The Beat the Donk series are good. I just don't think they are applicable to games with regulars and tougher competition and is more geared to playing against casual players.

Hadn't heard of Newell's book but i just put it on my Amazon's wish list.

This book is outstanding. Careful balance of sound theory and practical application. Highest possible recommendation. This book will teach you how to think and how to recognize and discard any other books and forum posts that do not square with what you read therein.

I agree. Probably the most important book I've ever read in my life.
