To ship one book to Canada, the cheapest shipping cost, which is through the United States Post Office, is about $20, which is far more than what we're selling some of the books. So, this doesn't make it worthwhile to sell the book directly to someone like yourself since we would require that in addition to the cost of the book, you would need to send us another $20.
We're sorry that this is the case, and appreciate your interest in 2+2 books. But there is nothing we can do about it and your best option is probably to go through Amazon.
Best wishes,

I understand the need to maintain your margins. Interestingly, depending on the number of books purchased and the specific titles, it would still be cheaper for me to buy directly from you even if I needed to pay the $20 shipping. This is mostly due to the fact that certain titles can only be purchased through market sellers at an inflated price with additional shipping charges.
Take for example "Pot-Limit Omaha: Understanding Winning Play." Your current sale price is $20USD ($40USD including shipping). The best price on Amazon Marketplace Canada including shipping is $46USD and if I purchased from Amazon US it's still $42USD. This price disparity doesn't apply to most titles but serves as an example of how certain titles are very pricey here.
For future reference, would you consider allowing me (or other Canadians) to buy directly from you with a minimum order size and/or simply paying a flat shipping fee (i.e. $20)? If it's more trouble than it's worth I'd understand, but if I could save some money and support a small publisher I'd prefer that to cutting Papa Bezos into the deal. This would make even more sense for Canadian buyers when our currencies are closer to par.
I feel like this could be easily integrated into your shopping cart system. At that point Canadians could simply run the numbers at the time of purchase and choose the most economic option without taking up any of your time.
Again, worst case I'll pay the markups at Amazon, but I thought I'd put the idea out there. Thanks for your time Mason.
Cheers!
