Thanks for the comments - really really helpful! Like I mentioned, I've never done this before so it's all a pretty cool and enjoyable learning curve really regardless of whether mine gets used or not.
Changed some stuff around and come to a different version now.
For anyone wanting some cards to use, I'm going to scan some hi res at some point. When I do, I'll be sure to upload them here.

I think these covers are pretty good, and they definitely be contenders.

Another cover. The playing card cube represents the puzzle that is poker and our struggle to find the perfect formula, or model, needed to solve the game. I just did yellow over dark since it looked pretty bold and clean but any changes/suggestions are welcome. I've never made anything like this but had fun creating the graphic for it and working on a layout.
*edit: If Im breaking the rule "6. It is not acceptable to remove or add features to an existing image." or this submission is unacceptable for any other reason just let me know and feel free to delete (just re-read the rules... used: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?...ube.svg&page=1 and generic card images to create my picture). I was planning on making a few more designs this month anyways
