I thought i first introduce myself, im a young student and im interested in Poker for a while. Now i'm looking forward to play 6MAXNLHE (Starting on 1/2NL Zoom). ( OH as you will see later in the post i hate grammar.)

As a student i like to write stuff down because it helps me learning and i can read through evrything, correct mistakes after learning new things and see how and if i progressed.

Thats why i asked myself why not write down a "Poker Gameplan"
But as a complete novice i dont have an idea if its a great idea and its common practice or if this is the most bs you have read in recent time on 2+2.

I'd like to give a reason why and somewhat of the pros and cons

PROS:
I know what i actually know, makes sense r8 ?! That way i'll know where i still have to do research.
I can learn with it and it gives me a solid basis i can work on and share to discuss ideas.
Im Playing not because "i feel like this is the right Play in this spot" but bc my Gameplan says so.
In times where i feel lost (Downswings and stuff) i can take a look into it again to regain some confidence.
CONS:
I can only write down the generell spots.
When my gameplan is wrong im ****ED.
It takes a lot of time.

I'm thrilled to hear from you.

Quick response here......

STARTING at the 1/2 ( typical $200 starting stack) is a recipe for losing your bankroll QUICKLY.

Do you maybe mean 2NL (.01/.02 with a $2 buyin)?

exactly you wont get out of the barn.

as you learn your game plan is trash. you need to learn the right play in each situation you are in. that is what makes you win. you cant change anything with a game plan unless it holds you back from making stupid choices. and if you do that you are toast anyway.

Hi there and thanks for the answers,
First of all @King Spew i meant 0.01/0.02 2Dollar Buy in.
idk why i said 1/2 Should've said 2NL right from the beginning. I know that starting on 200NL would get me shredded.
I read youre article and it was quite inspiring and i guess im heading in the same direction.
@Ray Zee i dont want to actually write down what to do in every spot (which would be foolish considering how many spots there are) but rather general stuff especially pre-flop calling/3/4Betting Ranges (since those are rather mechanic in Zoom), also some important concepts and math. I guess the title "game Plan" is a bit misleading.

good luck to you you sound like you deserve it my friend. stay on course and do what you need to keep you in check. but learn the finer things as quickly as you can as that gets you over the hump of trying to just break even.

and when learning any new poker thing play extremely tighter than you think you need to. as almost all losers lose because they play too loose in some way. and mostly in the early rounds.

Go for it man. I think trying to verbalise our thoughts is a great way for us to realise where we're lacking in comprehension. Pretend like you're writing a manual for somebody else. If you can't explain a concept in your own words to another person then you don't fully understand it.

The ability to verbalize your thoughts doesen't imply understanding. Experts usually have a deep subconcious understanding of a field. If I wrote a pokerbook in English it wouldn't be as good as a book written by a native speaker(It might be better than Helmuths book though )
Because English is a foregin language to me. Some people have the same problem in their native language, especially in fields where they have a deep understanding.

But it might still be a good idea to try to write a pokerbook.
