Betting it sometimes, but you don't need to bet as much as half pot. You'd be better off betting A8s and FDs to balance your TP/overpairs/monsters, but betting 88 isn't a huge mistake. It's just kind of meh.

No point 3betting pre here imo. I'm leading a lot on ott. You'v picked up a ton of equity and aren't in bad shape against a slow played TPTK. A lot of villain's unpaired hands also have decent equity against you ott so there's an element of protection. Checking ott seems needlessly passive and obviously means a much smaller pot when you make a straight otr.
