Will there be problems if I go from playing 5hrs a week to 50hrs a week? Will there be problems if I go from playing 5hrs a week to 50hrs a week?

Im trying to get to the point where I can grind many hours like the pros. I've been a member at Pokerstars for over 10 years and throughout this time only played about 5hrs a week at most. I want to challenge myself to play 50-60hrs a week. Would this be an issue? Would they mark me down as a suspicious account?

Yes there will be big problems. The poker police will be out to get you because you're only allowed to play a maximum of 49 hours a week.

I think they would mark you down as being out of school for the Summer. GL

I'd me more concerned about you going on burnout related tilt within days rather than anything Stars (why always Stars lol) may do, which if you emailed them saying you plan on increasing your play would be next to nothing

It would look suspicious if you went from being a casual/losing player to a mass-tabling crusher overnight (it would look like you'd sold your account, or were multi-accounting or running a bot farm), but the main concern (assuming you're not planning on cheating in some way) is that it's really hard to go from playing casually to doing something full time. (Just like it's hard for a casual jogger to become a competent marathon runner. You need to "train" yourself). Good luck with your challenge!

It's weird that every time a thread like this comes up it's always someone who wants to go from very casual to very serious overnight, no one ever wants to work their way up.

If you're playing an hour a day and want to bump it up to 12 hours a day, maybe just try playing longer than an hour and see how you do?

No but a psychiatrist might flag you.

Unless you are going to increase hours to 50 gradually, it seems like jumping off a cliff for most folks.

I wouldn't play 50 hours a week.

Seems like a road to burnout lol.

This hits the nail on the head. Going from 5 hours to 50 hours per week instantly, and winning, would be as hard as a couch potato trying to run a marathon with no training.
