You make your money from being better than your opponents. If you're a 5ptBB/100 winner on 2 tables with a bit of practice you can probably be a 4ptBB/100 winner on 4 tables without improving at all. The more tables you play the more you have to go with stats and instincts vs. specific notes.
There are some multitabling nits who make very little money(but a ton in rakeback) by playing only very good cards. This stunts your growth as a player however and it is unlikely you'll beat past 100NL even for a small amount with this strategy.
However specifically a lot of your edge as a TAG comes from playing better cards than the fish who play way too many. This doesn't mean you have to sit back and wait for aces though
