new to poker.... start for a little while playing on the Play Money tables. This will give you experience with setting up a table(s) and your computer to your liking, set buy-in protocols, learn the HotKeys that will make your game easier to play...etc.

How does someone make 385 posts on 2+2 without knowing the difference between poker, casino games, and sports?
Pro-tip: Play poker at the lowest buy-in you can find (either $2NL cash, 25c tourneys, or even play money). The casino and sports betting tabs in the Stars client are gateway drugs that probably lead to meth addiction and early death.

Too late meth and addiction already in the car

Deposit 50 pound and sat at 25/50 plo way I see it is I run like God I can stay at that stake and try to go up

If play smallest stakes I can't play good because I can only one table and it too slow

Went broke as never run good in all ins, but if can have say 5 winning sessions in a row am am nearly rolled for that stakes.

Built roll with grind before and if I go bust it is a head fu as all time spent was pointless.

Most likely the best way you say for most people.

That's exactly what I did. Not only did I learn the mechanics of poker, I got to road test my recordkeeping system. I kept records of wins/losses/profits/time, and whatever else I thought I might need to keep track of in the future.

Also, I recommend two books for anyone that gets serious about the game, and they have nothing to do with how you play your cards:

1. Treat Your Poker Like a Business: How to Turn a Hobby Into an Empire, by Dusty Schmidt. Schmidt became a poker millionaire playing online cash games at home while his kids were in school.

2. How to Turn Your Poker Playing into a Business: Knowing What to Deduct to Improve Your Odds With the IRS by Ann-Margaret Johnston. Johnston is a poker player and a tax attorney.
