What position is "LJ?" What position is "LJ?"

08-16-2010 , 04:50 PM
Hey 2+2ers,

Sorry for a dumb and short question, but I couldn't find it in the "dumb questions" thread, nor did a search of the forums-at-large yeild an answer.

What does "LJ" stand for in terms of table position, and where is it on the table? Am I right in assuming it's the player right before the hijack?

Much appreciated.

Your guess is as good as mine ?

Have you seen it used somewhere on these boards?

If so what was the sentence? Because LJ isn't commonly used to define position.

I've never seen that.

Maybe someone got LP confused with HJ?

A hybrid of late position and hijack where someone has got confused would be my best guess.

Surprised nobody's got this yet...

LJ is "lojack", one to the right of the "hijack".

Thanks jomoney, that was bugging me.

For those who thought it might be someone getting confused and/or a typo -- I was about to reply with a link to the thread where I first saw it, but i'm not going to bother. Search for "LJ" in the threads and you'll see it pops up in more than one place -- def not a mistake, just some under-represented position lingo.

Essentially I saw a hand or two where the OP would say "I had XX in the LJ and UTG limps....etc" or "I raise with XX from UTG+1 and LJ 3-bets" or something similar.
