What did he have? What did he have?

I am playing 2/2 game and I was on the big blind and have Jacks, 5 limpers, I raised to $20 and 3 callers.

Flop comes 4 K Q
so 2 over cards.

I checked - checked around.

Turn comes 5 - blank.
First to act, i figured no one hit K or Q, if anything they have low kicker, so I bet $65
2 caller and 1 fold.
River comes 5

I checked and this guy bets $65 and the other guy folds.
I was thinking for a bit and I put him on 4 5 suited or A5 or something.

I know $65 bet in a almost $300 pot, so I should of called to see his two cards.
At that point, I was only beating a bluff so i folded.
He shows me 4 of diamond and mucks.

Was it a call or fold?
What did you think he had?

I would have checked the turn.

I'm gonna guess that he had Q5 of spades.

With no reads on villain he could have anything, 44, Q4, K4, 54, and random bottom pair that he turned in a spazzy bluff, you'll never know.

Check turn...m/w third pair oop, no real draws, so not the place to be building the pot and turning your sd equity into a punt bluff on a wet flop...not for me either.

tbh, unless maybe one of your jacks is the J and someone bets small, or it checks thru flop and turn, to a small river bet with you closing the action, I wouldn't be putting any money into this pot postflop.

As played, river call is pretty mandatory I would have thought.

Possibly had a set of 4's, if you made the bet bigger pre-flop, he might of folded, 2 over cards doesn't mean your opponent always has it on the flop... unless he was playing crazy with 4-5 suited and got there with a full house

If he has two diamonds he would have shown the other card to make it seem he could have been bluffing. If he has 44 and he has the 4d then he probably shows that one because if he shows the 4s he can only have a boat.

If he didn't look at his cards before he showed you one of them, he had a pair of 4s. Very few low stakes players are going to remember which card was on top through a hand.

Is he 'bluffing' more than 20% of the time? That is all you really need to know right now.

That includes all the hands you beat as well ... like 77-TT and similar that beat you when you call with Ace-high.

What kind of read does he have on you? What kind of read do you have on him? You only credit him with hands you lose to .. did you do that 'for real' or did you do that to make yourself feel better? GL

PS .. See V10's hint on showing one card .. very helpful and one to use as a reverse tell as well.
