I've been wondering: at what point are you more than a beginner, and how do you know you are?

When you find a 2+2 forum that has more and focused content on the game you are interested in studying.

Micro and Small stakes NL 6Max as an example HERE.

Thanks for the reply. I guess i'm something more than a beginner then.

What percentage of players studies their poker? I mean, there are fun players who only play on the weekends. That kind of people vs people who play seriously, what percentage of the population do they make.

I mean: how many good vs bad players are there?

The only answers you will get are PURE guesses. I could say 50%, someone else can say 90% whilst a third can say <20%. Meaningless question imo.

@Mr R
NOT that i have hard facts or hard numbers but of guys that play Over 100 games a year
in NL 1/2 cash games The guys that consistently win seems to be about 10 to no more than 15% of the players. I have Heard that number thrown around often and it seems about right.
IMO about 10% win
About 20% are pretty close to break even (ish)
proabably another 20% are consistent losers
and like 50% are God Aweful almost never winning.

Thanks for the answer. Right now i'm break-even (ish) and want to get profitable returns. And I have many questions.

Do you think becoming a winning player is teachable?
Do you think raw IQ correlates with how people perform at the table, online or offline?

YEs.

Yes, there is some correlation but bar getting pretty high up hard work is enough to move. Whether that work is worth it is another thing completely.
