Weird spot w/ button straddle (Live 1/2) Weird spot w/ button straddle (Live 1/2)

I'm in the cutoff with QQ and stack of ~$400
Button has $400
MP has $600

Button straddles for $8. He is a solid player. He has 3bet 4 of 5 of his straddles up this point.

Most players flat all the way around to me. I also flat hoping the button would raise heftily.

Button 3bets to $70. Folds to MP (fishy player) who 4bets to $190.

What should I do here?

-

Here's what I did:
Spoiler:
I fold. Button shoves. MP tankcalls.

Button has JJ.

MP has A8o.

Flop AA8.

Was my fold too tight?

dont fold qq 50bb deep

also, if button 3bet, who did 2bet aka open raise? seems unclear

Sorry, was regarding the straddle as a raise.

I wasn't 40bb deep. I was 200bb deep.

I had a couple reasons for folding, but a primary one was that I am a rec player and wouldn't have been able to reload.

I think he thinks the straddle counts as a raise. That’s not the case though if the straddle is live.

Straddle turns it into a 1/2/8 game, so the effective stack is 50BB and you have the 3rd best starting hand in Hold‘em.

Why are you not happy to get it in here? If it’s about the money, buy in for less or play in a game with smaller or no straddles. Just ask yourself how you would have played it if the straddle was $1 and you had a $50 stack.

Gotcha.

Yes, the primary reasons for folding is that I am rec and didn't want to buy-in again, and that I also have to drive an hour to this venue. lol There were some other reasons floating around in my head when I briefly tanked, but these two were at the top. Haha... Are these reasons preposterous, or should I just always get it in there?

I'm always jamming it in there when I play microstakes.

You are obviously giving up a ton of EV by folding here, but as a recreational player you have every right to have other priorities than pure EV.

If you determine for yourself that not risking to have to leave the game that you enjoy is more valuable than taking a profitable spot, that’s your decision. Would you fold AA, too? If not, what about KK?

If you want to give up EV because you don't want to rebuy then go ahead if that is acceptable to you, but I can't really give advice about the hand then. I mean to what degree do you not want to rebuy, are you going to fold aces because of this reason?

This is in the category "I fold aces on the WSOP ME bubble because I bet my mortgage on this tournament and I don't want to bust". I hate the discussion because it is pointless. Strategy goes out of the window when you get in that territory.

Fold or jam.

What's absolutely critical here is what MP's 4bet means, beyond the fact that he's 'fishy'. I know a metric ****ton of fish because I play low stakes live poker but few of them 4bet anything less than AK. If you mean he's a maniac, ship, if you mean he's a typical loose passive bad player, snap fold.
