Table balancing Blind question Table balancing Blind question

Hey guys,

I am having problems understanding the big blind rules when it comes to tournaments. Could you help me with that?

First situation:
1 2 3 4 5
BTN SB open BB CO

The hand ends and on the next hand table balancing happens and a new player joins the table.

Who has the BB, who has the SB?

Second situation:

1 2 3 4 5
BTN SB BB UTG CO

After the hand player 2 leaves the table.

Who is BTN and who has post the BB and SB?

Situation 1-Player cannot come in between SB and button, so player sits out one hane while the 2 seat is the button, and then the button passes to the 4 seat and the new player come in as the cutoff.

Situation 2

Button moves to the 2 seat as normal, but it is a dead button (no player at that position)

Easiest way to think of it. when new players come in, you cannot put existing players at a disadvantage or advantage, so you can never make them post a blind twice, or miss a blind, or miss being on the button.

I was able to find out that poker room can use the "Forward button" OR "Dead button" rule.

This is a questions about how pokerstars do it. In the tournament rules they say they use "forward button" rule and they never have any "dead buttons". I have been contacting their support and they said its a "Dead button", i then linked them to their tournament rules and they changed the answer, they later changed the answer again. So clearly their support is clueless about this.

Anyone here who knows how pokerstars do it?

P.S Thanks spewingsmylove for your answer! but i need to know how it is on pokerstars in particular.
