In 6Max i open up hands like KTs and QTs from UTG, I flat with QJs and KJs against an UTG open but what is generally a good thing to do with KTs and QTs vs an UTG open? I try to 3bet as much as I can (always with a linear range though) when I play a hand but these hands just seem too weak to 3bet an UTG open with.. any advice?

too many variables.....like what position are you, who's behind, reads on UTG, stack size, bet size, table dynamics, your image.....etc. I'm sure you can think of other things that effect what you can play/fold vs. an UTG open.

And because of these missing dynamics...one can not simply say "3bet or fold"...but it's more correct than having a wide call range imo.

I understand, let's just say a standard 100bb deep, 3bb raise, utg is 30/20, Im in MP.

the kinds of players i would opt to 3bet broadway with are : maniacs who don't 4b a ton, so im using a linear range for value. if they 4b i start flatting bkuz i dont want blown off a good hand

Tags: because i want to cap their range, not flat and pay them off when i hit tpbk, and its easy to fold to a 4b

passive stations who limp, and squeeze plays for value (assuming original raiser isnt like 2% pfr)

If you are in mp vrs a strong range, you can use that as slight position protection from squeezes. If utg is wide and you know the squeezer also knows this and are raising with a polarised range, you can 4b bluff or call with your strong range in position and rek him by reading his projection and his preceive view of you.

building bigger pots should be when your hand is better than your opponents and you can outplay him later on. if either isnt the case than first choice is folding.

Well, I dont think i can 3bet these hands for value against an UTG open range. But I do think these hands flop well enough to withstand frequent cbets and outplaying possibilities. Does this mean I should generally just flat with these hands IP?
