Hello guys,

spin and gold is 10bb or 15bb starting stacks most of the time. Which chipEV is achievable in these games long term? I only managed to get 16 chipEV over 1000 spins and I have an ok push fold strategy.

Your best bet is asking on the husng/spin subforum, though I haven't seen anyone publicly post results for these games anywhere. Almost certainly no way to win before rb/promos, though.

How come a shallower stack makes a game tougher to beat? Less room for skill/outplay?

Basically yes. These games have a very fast structure and decently high rake, and above lowstakes the average opponent just won't be weak enough to have a lot of room for profit.
