Which of the following would be the best for building up a bankroll from $40 and move up in limits within a week... I play on full tilt...

$40 = 20 BI's. I'd recommend playing the 6-man or the 9-man as there is less variance. It's rare that you can go 10+ BI's without cashing. The 18 man+, It's possible to go 15 BI's+ without cashing there your bankroll may be depleted before you can even get a chance to make any profits. Now, choosing between 6 man and 9 man, it really depends on whether you play better short handed or full ring. GL running your bankroll up.

Just out of curiosity how many hours are you going to dedicate in that week?
And, I don't know if you have, but definitely if you haven't spend time on SNG Strat. by Moshman-excellent book!!!!

Hey, if you crush it post it. I would love to hear about it as I have not mastered and very little exp. with SNG

I am not really a new player, just doing this to rebuild my roll of $250 that i lost the other week(mainly from cash games). I have decided that playing sitngos for $2 would be more profitable than playing cash games at this limit. I plan on playing at least 30-55 hours a week while in school. I will deffi post my stats once i crush it, i wont be starting for another week or so though.

9man.

You might be better off playing $2 HUSNGs, though.

Good luck, the $2 has buried me the last 3 days.

if you learn to play a little bit of heads up.. and can win about 55-60% of the time at $2husgs (very possible at the micro level).... its one of you better options.

OP why in such a hurry about moving up? take your time... learn the game the money will come.

6 or 9. 6 can be softer and quicker but i think it comes down to preference. i some times multi both.

6 or 9 imo you don't have the bankroll for any larger field sizes, although i'm a br nit so i don't think you have the bankroll for 6 to 9, but imo 9 man would be most profitable.. that's why i voted for it

I personally have tried the SNG scene and found that HU is much more consistent for me as a player. At least at the lower levels <$5 because you have many more people just learning the game there will be many more suckouts IMO.

However, sticking with your original question, I would go 9-man SNG and not MTSNG simply because of what previous posters have said, from all the replies before this one you should have all the information necessary to make a good decision...GL

I agree, HU is very profitable if you stick to having rematches w/ worst players and l refusing to do so w/ better ones.
