let's say there is a game where the blinds are 1/1 and the min buyin is $10. the game is generally loose passive. you want to teach someone the simplest strategy possible, so that they can beat the game. what is it?

buy in for the minimum, Jam AA, KK, QQ, JJ and AK.

Fold everything else.

Or ?

Game would be extremely volatile & hard to beat IMO.

But teaching someone to play a strong strategy would be easy

If all players start with 10bb

I'd be jamming 88+ UTG

66+ MP and any position.

Stacking off vs opens with 66+ , QJs+
Sometimes maybe 55+

fold everything else

If we are the only ones short stacking 88+ UTG
66+ MP

but calling off, I guess I would be tighter.

Game would actually be pretty easy to beat against weaker players because a) no rake and b) lots of people aren’t able to implement the easiest short stack strategies.

Easiest answer to your question: look at a push/fold chart to see which range to openshove with from each position and then adjust for the fact that there’s a 0.5BB SB ante.

If you want to make it the simplest possible while still beating the game, just take the UTG open shove range for 10bb and use it for all other positions. Cliffs, it's much wider than just JJ+/AK.

The strategy to teach them is that they need to walk out of the poker room and put that $10 on the Player at Baccarat. Next to not wagering anything at all, that's the most EV of all the options for the situation you've provided.

The only way I personally learned the game was diving right in with the sharks! lol loosing money makes you learn the game pretty darn quick! I can't imagine teaching a group of players. Anyone remember the movie Oceans 11, Brad pitt scene in the beginning.. "I've got all red."

You are continuing to post awful, completely false advice in BQ. In any other section I wouldn't care but doing so in BQ is pretty bad. Please stop.

How was my advice false and awful? I was merely giving an option for learning. I wasn't trying to be a ***. Giving someone advice to go all in with premium hands is not a good way to learn poker whether it's playing for free, $, or home games... It is a simple strategy, but may give the wrong message for a new learner. I would appreciate next time you have a rebuttal, make it valid!
