There is nothing wrong with ordering from the store on a rakeback account if you actually want the item. 27% of the item's cost will be deducted from your RB payment, but you still come out ahead because you have 100% of whatever you ordered.



EstrlM3, rakeback is a deal you set up with an affiliate of a poker site where they give you back a certain percentage of the rake you pay. You almost always have to do this when you set up an account, but sometimes you can get it on an existing account. On FTP, sometimes you can get it by e-mailing support and asking to get rakeback. If you don't have it, you really should switch to a site where you can get it, because it will add up to a significant amount of money returned to you. Yeah, I'm going to just grind the satellites then unregister the actual tourney.

I now have 8800 points, so 8800/50 = 176 sitngo's.

Only thing that bites about their big multi table tourneys is that 2nd place gets 200 ftp's, and first place always gets into the satellite tourney for like 3500 ftp's... Oh well.

Grinding ftp tourneys is pretty fun!


And I'll save up a few ftp's for the face the ace satellite!

BTW, you can buy all of the ftp gear on ebay. The hats, which are like 9000 ftp's are like 30$ on ebay.

I would save your FTP. If you need something from the store like a t shirt or something just buy it in the marketplace.

There's no reason.

You lose $1.35 in rakeback for every 1k points you use, but the points have a face value of $5/1k, so you're effectively buying an item for 27% of its actual price. So if an item has more value to you than 27%* of its cost, you're better off with the item instead of just hoarding FTPs forever.

*This will vary if you can find the item at a lower price than the FTP store (likely) but it still won't be such a difference that you'll lose money using FTPs to buy something.

Question: I'm playing a couple of the SnGs to the FTP 250K GTD...specifically, the 1650 FTP 9 player games that pay 3 seats worth 5000 FTP. Anyone know if I'm gonna take it up the rear on rakeback?

If there's no rakeback hit after you unregister, these are a -GREAT- deal - 1650 * 9 = 14850 FTP put in the 15000 FTP pool that FTP pays out, so every9 tournies you wind up 150 FTP ahead if you're average. And since NOBODY knows how to play a 3-pay satellite, it's actually quite juicy.

However, if there is a MGR hit, I might hold off on playing these....
