Honestly at many many tables there often won't be any players that particularly stand out as very good or very bad. In this case, sometimes the most important aspect of seating is whether you are physically comfortable. Do you have enough elbow room? (I love seats 2-3/7-8 for this reason) Can you read the board? (Maybe seat 5 is for you if you have sight problems) Do you want to be able to see all players at once? (back to seat 3+7)
