Hi Guys.
I wonder where i can 'hide' my Poker-Bankroll.
10k are way to much to hide in the pillow, if you know what i mean.
Any tips?
Oh, i'm a Live-Player in Germany, if thats important.
Thx guys!

I always stored the first hundred thousand between the mattress and the box spring. Never thought to use the pillow as that would seem too lumpy for my tastes.

Once I got to five hundred thousand, I simply rented a box at the local bank. I slept better after that too...

split the money up into multiple places. best options:

drill a hole in the top of a wooden door, roll the money up and push it in

press the bills in between the pages of a book

put the bills in an envelope, tape it to the bottom of a drawer

best spot: the bank

Banks seem like the simplest answer if you're in any sort of developed country. But otherwise if you want a dozen buy ins at home, you can get a decent safe anywhere, but realistically who or what do you think you're protecting your money from?

I live alone, I keep roughly 1-2k (I'm only a 1/2 player) in cash in a binder clip in a drawer that I rarely go into (an end table in an out of the way place). No one is ever in my home when I'm not. If someone does break in, it is way more likely they will be going for my various computers/electronics/things in plain view, not rifling through random drawers.

How frequently do you need immediate access to it (ie. a call that says 'good game going...get here NOW!')? If not often, then why not just keep it in a bank account? It is NOT a large enough sum to require a safe deposit box. You also derive the benefit of the interest that accumulates, even if if is a relatively minuscule sum...but 1.5-2% is STILL 1.5-2%.

Alternately, just put it in an envelope and keep it between a couple of towels in whatever closet you have your towels on a shelf. After all, a $10K stack really isn't that thick...

In a ziploc bag inside a bag of flour in the freezer. Put a thousand in a lock box or desk draw out of sight, so that anyone who is looking for your money will think they have found it.

Or, you know, a bank.

Don't most casinos have account systems? I used to keep my roll at the casino, and keep a few buy ins at other ones in the UK, you know back when I decided it's time to stop carrying money in my backpack.

Bank is the more convenient option tbh, but surely, if you're asking here, I assume you don't want someone to know how much money you're making.

Try a piece of furniture, something like an antique clock or a drawer with ornaments or a cheap electronic device (VHS/DVD player) , wiggle the small parts and look for something that looks like it has a bit of unused space inside.
Plush toys are also an option.
This might also work with drugs, but I'm not too sure.

I would suggest like any normal person to have it in a bank account or put it in a safe.

Also this.
I'd suggest the Bitcoin Connect crypto currency. I like the bald guy, he is charming and looks trustworthy.

Thx for the answers. The most important thing for me is to hide my profit. I rent a box in my local bank to store my bankroll. I feel saver that way. 2k is enough to carry around or hide at home for daily sessions. In germany there arent many Casinos which store your bankroll, so thats not an option unfortunately.

Obviously the guy doesn't want it in the bank so that his money doesn't get tracked by governments, which is a good idea, so not sure why people keep suggesting that tbh.

10k isn’t pocket change, but certainly not an amount where I would be uncomfortable with at home in Germany.

Odds of a break-in are pretty low and even if one happens they won’t find it if it’s at least somewhat hidden. Most important thing by far is that you don’t tell the wrong people about it.

FWIW, my local Volksbank charges 98€ a year for a small box and offers 24 hour access to it.

my local bank charges 70€/year. im fine with that. i dont want to hide it at home because of several reasons:
-i dont live alone (roommates, which i trust but not there Friends...)
-protect my bankroll from fire or water….happened here once with water through the walls….)
- women i bring home...dont want them to leave earlier as they should ;-)

A small sum (less than $50K) sitting in a bank account is not an issue with the government. In most places, even larger amounts are not going to be an issue, especially with the pittance that the interest will be. The $10K described by OP won't even raise an eyebrow by sitting in the account. Certainly there might be times where it is easier to make two deposits if there are concerns about a CTR or similar report, but even that is not a big issue...it just isn't.

I don’t want to be mean, but I highly doubt you have any idea what might or might not present an issue with the German government?

For starters, lots of the stuff that’s based on income in the US is based on net worth in Germany. Good example is Bafög, which goes to non-wealthy students (yes, not only is college free in Germany and comes with healthcare, you can also get some interest-free extra money that you don’t have to pay back in full if you do it the right way). And I could come up with a multitude of other reasons why you don’t want to have that money sitting into an account.
