Hi guys, short question.

A friend of mine showed me his rake in bb/100 in 200k hands. It was 8.40. Mine was 7.6 also in 200k hands. Same stake.

Why is this?

Did you look up how rake is calculated at this specific (unnamed) platform?

That, and did you look up how whatever program you are using calculates what rake "you" have paid?

So the very first thing to do would be to import his database into your HM3 or vice versa.

Next step is to filter for # of players at the table. And then you can account for possible differences in playing style.

Rake contribution is not equal among all players in the pool. You only pay rake on pots you win, so generally winning players contribute more rake overall.

Furthermore, your style can affect rake contribution. Loose/aggro styles end up in bigger pots more frequently, and therefore pay more in rake on average.
