Are "local" online sites safe?? Are "local" online sites safe??

So the obvious answer is no, but I'm more concerned about the software. I play in a few games in NNJ and everyone is always playing on this one site. At any time there's hundred of people logged on and playing. The action is great and after months of not using it I am thinking of playing on it because I already play with half the player pool live. Are these sites leased out to people? Are there skins that everyone uses?? There's no depositing or even name or ID needed. Just give them the SN you want and work out how much they put in your account. Any experiences or thoughts would be helpful.

Edit: cashing out is not a problem I've had many friends cash out 5 figures. Most just take it out every few weeks to be safe

I don't know if it's safe, does Batman head up security, or Robin?

Why play an unregulated site when you have a regulated option available to you?

I like limit and mixed games, this site has 15/30 and 30/60 regularly. Also the play is much worse

If you are talking about online poker clubs, where there is no actual cash deposited and you do transactions through an agent so that the site doesn't handle any finances, I don't use those but I know people who do and the general feeling is that it depends on how trustworthy of an agent you can find. If you were a sports bettor, would you trust your agent to pay out big wins if he were a bookie? If not, maybe you should find another agent.

You're going to run into clunky software and you might only be able to play one table at a time.

Thank you very helpful. My main concern isn't cashing out but cheating and superusers. We saw sites that had a lot to lose succumb to cheating and shady things, these operations are that x10000.

You're playing 30/60 mix, maybe beginners questions isn't the place to get great feedback? Maybe internet poker? Head over to mid-high stakes limit, as I'm guessing people who post there are playing in your games?

Pretty hard to play much 30/60 without like $10k on hand. You're starting to risk significant money if your agent rips you off. Or if the site rips him off. I get the "I trust my guy" thing, but you have a few people on his list have good weeks and are most agents willing/able to make good on $30k-$100k net owed to his group of players? You just have a couple players rip 300BB hot streaks and suddenly he's really net positive to the site.

I'd just assume that there isn't any real site security, and work from there. If things seem strange, you'll have to wonder. If you're crushing, it isn't hurting you too much. It is just like a home game at these stakes. What are the chances guys are signaling or there's a mechanic in the box? Not zero.
