I think you are misunderstanding my position. I am not saying that 1 minute is acceptable, I am saying by rule, wasn't there a minimum that must be allowed.
I did find a reference to the rule change for last years WSOP. Prior to 2017, a 'reasonable' (defined as 2 minutes) amount of time must elapse before a clock could be called. After 2017, as a result of Kassouf's play, a clock could be called immediately, and the floor could determine if it was appropriate and what amount of clock would be given.
I was not aware that the rule had changed.
Heck, i get annoyed when a player routinely takes 5 seconds to make a preflop decision. I know a minute is a long time. If someone is tanking a minute more than occasionally (and that should be about once or twice a day) I would not disagree with calling the clock quickly. But that isn't the situation we have been discussing. I think, somehow, I have been cast as someone opposed to calling the clock. This is not my position at all.
