Read somewhere on here that if you get 1 million play chips on a site they give you $50 real money?

Also, what is the best site to sell play chips on? Heard people actually BUY play chips..

Yes, there are websites that buy your playchips and sell them back. I did that a few months ago, when I didn't feel like depositing. I did business with a website that worked really well. Back then, the going rate was $10/million PokerStars play chips. I just checked the site again, and now it seems that they buy a million at $7.50. They didn't buy often back then, so I guess demand is really low these days. They were very professionnal and efficient, and because I don't want to risk getting banned for advertising, I'll just say that google is your friend and you can trust the lion.

There are tourneys that have 50k, 80k, & 100k play money buy-ins. And actually, those tourneys are about as close to low stakes real money as there is. (how people play anyway) Since you have to start in the play money sites with only 1000 chips, it can take a long, long, time to build up a bank roll big enough to play at that level.

Therefore, when someone goes "busto", rather than start back over and build a new bank roll, they go to one of those sites and buy a million chips for $12-$15.

I think one of the reasons some people do this is the can tell their wife, not to worry, it's play money!

In my professional opinion and from what I can estimate from current market conditions, it would be advisable to hold what play money chips you have. The currency expects to make gains in coming years and will go a long way towards diversifying your investment portfolio.

also keep in mind that getting caught selling chips is in violation of the "term of use aggreement" -ya never know sell play chips and your account just went to sheet!
