I do play at pokerstars

I do have question on pot sizing

for example, if I'm playing c25/c50 game and I'm on sb

when button bets $1.50 to steal the pot and I try to re-steal and bet 'pot' using

bet slider, it automatically adjust to $5.00.

How does it calculated? because when he bets $1.50 and SB/BB are c25, c50 each. so total should be $1.50 + c25 + c50

simple calculation would give me $2.25 (which is the pot in the middle)

why do I get $5.00? instead of $2.25

same thing goes to re-raising postflop

V bets $2 into $4 pot and when I raise pot, I get way more than $6 to bet

how is it calculated? anyone knows?

A pot-sized bet is a call and a raise. First you call his $1.50, then you calculate the size of the pot. His $1.50 plus your $1.50 plus the big blind is $3.50. You raise the size of the pot on top of your call, so the total bet is $1.50 plus $3.50, or $5.00.

When he bets $2 into a $4 pot, you call his $2 so the pot is $8, then you raise $8 on top of your $2 call, so a pot-sized raise should be to $10 total.

Pro-tip: If you don't know what a pot-sized raise is, you probably shouldn't be playing 50NL on Stars, unless you have money to burn. Much of the field are full-time professionals, and they will take newbies to the cleaners.

If you're facing a bet of X, you match the bet of X, and then duplicate every bet on the table. If everyone on the table besides the X bets is equal to Y, then you're calling the X bet, and then matching the two other X bets plus the Y.

In other words, an easy calculation for the pot is 3X plus Y, where X is the bet you're facing and Y is everything else on the table (not including any previously bet chips in front of you). In all your examples, this will give the pot sized bet.

yes, you can make 1,5-2k$/month at those stakes, in vast (vaaast) majority of the world avarage monthly wage is below 500$.

As shocking as it might sound, there are "pros" (people who derive the bulk of their income) playing 2NL ($2 buyin), due to them living in countries where jobs are scarce, and wages/welfare payments are low. In some places, $10 a day is enough to live on.

Here in the Philippines some people are living on even less than that, like my girlfriend who is raising a son (alone) on $120 a month, and working 80 hours a week to get that monthly $120 salary.
