ProPokerTools simulation question

So, I've been going through some hand histories in universal replayed and I've been using pro poker tools in spots I'm not sure what to do.
My question comes when trying to figure out starting hands. Situation is I'm UTG, 5 handed in a micro mtt. I have JTo. I put into the simulator my hand plus 4 *s for my opponents hand and get back 25% VS 18%s. Is this an OK line to go with considering no one has acted and I can't put anyone on a range yet?

JTo might have OK-ish equity vs 4 random hands, but it doesn't play particularly well if you get called by someone that has position on you. I would open KJo and QJo (and maybe KTo) and JTs in MP, but not JTo or QTo. Save the weaker offsuit Broadways for CO/BTN/SB imo.
For 2 spots off the button, something like 18-20% of hands should be profitable opens in most situations. JTo doesn't quite make the cut imo.

Hi, I read about the syntax formula on propoker tool and there's a point I don't understand. It reads like this on their website :
[A-Q][J-T]23 - Equivalent to AJ23, AT23, KJ23, KT23, QJ23, QT23
It seems like it means we isolate 23 with any 2 cards between A and T.
But why then don't we just read like this :[A-T]23
I don't understand since it seems to be written like the A and Q can be regrouped together, but not with the J or T.

I'm guessing that it's differentiating those hands from something like AA23 and TT23

It's saying that, if I'm understanding it correctly, your range is 23, a card between an ace and a queen then a card that's either a ten or a jack. Ignoring that, if you're writing things as you are, you are only taking one card between an ace and a ten with your 23 and making do with the scoring to contract bridge as your fourth card, even if your notation meant two cards, it is not the same
