So if it's a freezeout and you're wanting it to run four hours, you're going to have 80k in play, so 15 minute levels gives you 16 levels, looking like:
1-2) 25/50
3-4) 50/100
5) 100/200
6) 150/300
(remove 25 chips)
7) 200/400
8) 300/600
9) 400/800
10) 600/1200
11) 800/1600
12) 1000/2000
13) 1200/2400
(if you have 500 chips in play, remove 100 chips, else wait a level to do so)
14) 1500/3000
15) 2000/4000
16) 3000/6000
I like having a couple of longer levels initially to give everyone plenty of play deep (our pub tournament runs with 20 minute levels for the first four, then a quick break and 15 minutes thereafter), and shorter levels with more gradual increase is something I find generally works better. If you wanted 20 minute levels, you could remove levels 1, 3, 13 and 16, but that'd likely actually play quicker early. It's all trial and error though, as long as you don't do anything ******ed like going 100/200 200/400 300/600 400/800 500/1000 colour up the 100's then 1k/2k you should be fine
