Preparing for downswing? Preparing for downswing?

After months of breakeven on NL2 (over 30K hands) at Stars I've moved over to Party and in the last 2k hands I'm winning 40bb/100 on their NL2 6-max tables!

Obviously this is not sustainable and I expect to start losing any time soon. How can I mentally prepare for this. In the past when I've gone on heaters like this I've lost it just as quick and then lost some more by playing bad.

Has anyone any words of wisdom to impart on me to prepare me for the inevitable KK>AA and bad beats that are bound to come?

You can go on heaters or coolers at any time. Just because you're winning doesn't mean your're "due" for a loss, although I understand that you become a bit more dreadful of beginning to run badly. I do to.

Easier said than done, but just try not to worry about it. If you have tilt issues reduce your volume when you're going through a downswing. Remember that you're not entitled to win and don't think of your opponents as morons/fish/donkeys. Just play the game and enjoy yourself win or lose, or if you're competitive focus on making volume goals and completely ignore short-term winnings.

The best thing you can do is adhere to brm because if you don't there will come a time when you regret it. if ur rolled for it the ol toaster in the bath tub routine isn't as tempting

Focus on winning instead of losing.

Just focus on playing your best poker. If you can feel yourself nearing tilt, ask yourself, do I think this is the best play? Do what you think is best always and you wont have to worry about winning, the results will just come; as long as your strategy is solid.

Id ditch the "I'm due" mentality also. I used to think this way too, but one day I noticed that it was essentially a justification for questionable plays I made on a losing streak. It got me nowhere.

Hope I helped a bit, and best of luck OP!
