I am looking for recommendations on what the best poker training sites are, for cash game & tournament strategy study.

I know of Upswing, which seems expensive - $50/month, plus you have to buy additional modules within the course for advanced strategies...

I just found out about "CORE" by Red Chip Poker - which advertises a cost of $5/week, or $50/mo for the "PRO" membership which I guess has some added benefits...

With upswing I know I am getting a quality, professional course that a ton of people use and can give great testimonials to.

With CORE, I am not sure really about the quality or what you really get out of it. I saw it in youtube advertisement and it doesn't give me info on their site.

Any other courses I am missing here? Perhaps something a little cheaper, yet great quality? Or any that are of GREAT quality and worth $50/mo ? Is Upswing one of those, worth $50/mo ?

Thanks

RunItOnce is another option I've heard good things about. Phil Galfond's and Jason Koon's site.

If you haven't yet decided to specialize on a specific format (i.e. cashgames or tourneys) I doubt you're of a skill level where paying for a course is actually worthwhile. There is lots of free content on Upswing and RedChip (and elsewhere) that should be consumed instead until you're really "serious" about the game.
Have you signed up for the free emails from Upswing? You can learn a lot from the articles they publish for free. Jonathan Little is another one with some good free content that serves as appetizers for his more pro-level stuff.
With many of the "premium" training sites, you really need to be studying for a few hours a day to make paying for it good value. If you only look at the stuff on a casual basis, you're not really getting your money's worth imo.

I've also stumbled across this site for the Daniel Negreanu Masterclass course. https://pokermasterclass.uscreen.io
I'm not sure if it's any good, but it has a couple of free videos, which is pretty cool. I am a beginner, so this seemed like a good introductory course. I haven't tried it yet.

I'm thinking of purchasing the "Fundamental" bundle, which has the select videos for just the core fundamental into. It also seems pretty cheap for access.

This is solid advice OP, consume as much free stuff as you can, okay a little. Rinse and repeat a few times and then you'll likely be a lot better prepared for premium material

I was an Upswing Member and tried Redchip since it was only $5 and also did the 1 week free of Jonathon Little's Pokercoaching/Floattheturn. Redchip poker beats them all by far IMO. Red Chip takes you from the very beginning of developing a strategy (cash or tourney doesn't matter for CORE) and understanding NLHE. Someone that knows the rules but never played NLHE could do CORE and understand it. For someone like me that has been playing for several years recreational that wanted to up his game CORE was perfect. All the terminology and theory is made for dummies.

I'd recommend it for anyone that is not a pro.

Problem I had with Upswing was it was taught as if I had a firm understanding of NLHE theory and already know how to run down player ranges and know what blockers and combos are. Upswing is probably better for more advanced players.

Floattheturn/Pokercoaching was pretty good but less in depth as CORE. Has lots of videos and has a free 1 week trial so check it out.

If people knew the layout of CORE it is in a specific order and I'd recommend $5 a week on something laid out in a specific order than randomly reading free stuff. It's $5.

I just enrolled in Core. I like the structure. I have only done the first two lessons, but I plan on completing the course. Here is a link to the Syllabus :

Daniel would be good again if he played his game and stopped trying to get involved with new theory. That's what makes Helmuth as good as he is. He plays his game and doesn't try to be young and hip.

I hate seeing Daniel looking over the top of his glasses trying to look like a poker professor when he plays now.

I thought Negreanu's Masterclass was decent, but not worth the money for just that one class. It also assumes you know something about the game. I would never recommend it to a total beginner. I learned some things for sure. But, it wasn't in depth enough,. I will say that if you have a Masterclass subscription for all the classes, it is worthwhile to take. But, Gordon Ramsay's cooking classes are the bomb

Although they do offer promotions now and then that basically wave it, I don't think Upswing should have that "$99 for the first month and $49 thereafter" sub structure in place. I know that for me, paying that much for the first month without really getting to sample the product at all first is what has held me back from trying it so far. I've subbed to both RedChip and RunItOnce for many months in the past and right now am looking into either a month of RedChip and Core, or RIO's From The Ground Up package, which comes with a month of essential included, all for $49. Probably the best deal available for any of us at the casual/semi pro level.

I think RIO's Elite is probably the pinnacle of training here in 2019 but I'd like to spend a month with more foundational and framework material right now as a recent downswing has shown me that there are fundamentals I still never took the time to grasp properly and along with my current volume, I could learn a lot and become a much better player this way. I've learned a ton about the game recently and become a much, much better player but compared to pros - I still have a long way to go and regardless of anything else, am taking a "I'm a fish who knows nothing" approach to the game for the next few weeks.

Any advice for someone in my shoes on whether I'd get more out of RedChip Pro/Core for a month ($50) or RIO's "From The Ground Up/Essential" ($49) for a month?

Anything that you're paying that much a month for to learn NLHE is basically a scam at this stage

Why's that? The fact that a lot of information is readily available at this point? A lot of guys sub to RIO's Elite for $99/month. Probably more than ever right now since the launching of their own network/room.

More a statement of the availability/quality of the games nowadays than the actual content, it could be the best quality content in the world but if it's not going to improve your game to the point where you're making $99 a month more than what you would have done previously, what's the point?

Not trying to be sarcastic but - what are you talking about? Availability of the games? There are plenty ...??? Quality?

I've done Upswing, Red Chip, and Pokercoaching and I would say I have to not disagree with you completely. A lot of it is watching people plug situations in to PIO, or videos plugging the more expensive sub-courses within the course. They are businesses looking to squeeze what they can from people.

Dan Bahlzerian needs to come out with one next.

Earlier, you recommended Red Chip Poker for the structure and info vs. $5/week price. Did your opinion change in the end about this?

I am also looking to plug my leaks and improve my game at the micros online.

No. Red Chip Core will give you a grasp of poker to start to develop your own strategy. I stand by that 100%. The premium course has some good stuff but is loaded with filler IMO. Literally just someone playing on solvers.

Most of the good parts of the premium Red Chip course can be purchased separately without the monthly subscription.

One course Range to Exploit is good. Also one course by Ed Miller about moving from (Live) 1/2 to 5/10 is really good. Both can be purchased.

I feel like most of what you get from Upswing for $50 a month can be found in the $5 a week RCP Core as well.

The one thing I would say Upswing is good for is if you are a comfortable TAG who struggles with playing LAG then Upswing is gold.
