Hey all. I was wondering if anyone had recommendations for how they track their poker wins/losses and other details. Something like an effective iPhone app or something would be cool.

I've tracked wins/losses for the day for a couple of years, but I'm stepping up my game and looking to get a bit more sophisticated with how I track not just wins/losses, but other details and maybe even with some reporting capabilities.

Although I'm not a beginner, I thought this was a good forum for it as beginners should start tracking as well, the sooner you see your trend stats the sooner you can figure out how to improve them.

There are a few options on the app store, but a few for $10-$15, which doesn't sound like a lot but in app terms is like astronomical, lol. Was just wondering if anyone has something they could recommend before I waste time/money on something that sucks.

I keep all of my stats in a Google Sheets spreadsheet. You can customize to your heart's content to track other data.

Back in the day when I played online, my poker client had a button for something called a "cashier", which gave me a number in something called "dollars", which seemed to do your first bit

I have an interest in the answers you get OP.

Having said that I currently track using a personal spreadsheet. That was working fine for SnG's as I could easily record the results and at a high level I have it calculating things like my ROI, ITM, finish position. So I can easily see what types and stakes of SNG's I do better at than others etc.

What that doesn't do is give me any sort of hand analysis and now I've moved from SNG's to cash games it really isn't much use. I know for example that yesterday I'm down 27 ptBB for the day but I have no idea how many hands I played and nothing to look at to figure out where that went or why.

My personal situation is made more difficult because all my games are played during my work commute, lunch breaks, etc on a mobile. So that doesn't even store hand histories. In fact it may cause me to change the site I play on because whilst no site tracks hands on a mobile there are at least some that allow you to easily request your HH and the one I'm on doesn't.

So if you play mainly tournaments and SnG's I think you can do enough yourself with a spreadsheet to know roughly how you are doing.

If you are playing cash then I think you need to automate it and use something like 'poker tracker' (That's just the one I know about not a recommendation for it).

If you want to analyse your play then you must get something like PT as doing it yourself will take away too much time from your playing/studying.

However for software like PT to work you must be able to get hold of your hand histories.

I'm using PT4 to analyse my hands and keep a record of how I'm playing.

It can be overwhelming at first but then I just use the basics for reviewing and replaying hands, tracking my VPIP and PFR stats and how many hours and hands I've clocked up with my results.

I'm going to start using it more over the coming weeks and months but as I say, it can look overwhelming.

I'm pretty much exclusively cash live. Looking to dive back into the online waters, though, at least a bit. I was waiting for maybe legislation to get it back the way it used to be first...but that looks like it's going to be a cold day in hell, so...I'll be heading to the online forum to figure out how it works these days.
