Hey,

I am looking for resources beyond books to help develop my game. I have never played on any of the larger sites like stars, 888 etc because I'm in the UK and there are some great smalller sites.

I've researched pokertracker 4 and I was curious as it mentions that it has inbuilt equity calculators and leak fixers, is the software a viable teaching tool for the game?

Thanks.

PT4 does have a leak fixer which looks at your stats over a given sample and compares to the "recommended" values. So you get some general improvement ideas like "you're folding too much against 3-bets" or "you're not aggressive enough on the flop" etc.

IMO a bigger benefit of using a tracker is being able to get statistics of your results to find improvements in your game. So you can for example look at all the times you've opened a certain hand from a certain position and see if that hand been a profitable open in your sample.

Also, if your site allows the use of HUDs, that's a pretty significant advantage as well. Being able to see in-game how much someone has been opening, how much they've been c-betting, how often they've folded to a 3-bet etc. is extremely useful information.

Cheers for responding,

I'm glad to hear that it has this feature but does it allow you to input your own ideal values? So, for instance, if you were trying to play a profitable LAG game then could you adjust the values and aims you're working towards or are the recommended ones more concrete?

Also you mentioned "if your site allows huds"; I know that some of the bigger sites like Stars and Party obviously allow it but can it monitor results for something smaller like Unibet or Bet365?

The tool shows you your own value for each stat, and displays it relative to the range on which the values of "most winning players" fall, or something like that. So based on your playing style one could aim for one end of the spectrum or another. And of course such general guidelines are not applicable for every situation - if I was crushing the tables playing hyper-LAG I wouldn't really care if a computer tool told me I should tighten up

They also have videos explaining the different stats and their target values: https://www.pokertracker.com/videos/PT4/leaktracker

Supported sites are listed here: https://www.pokertracker.com/products/PT4/supported.php

Looks like Bet365 (part of iPoker Network) is supported, but Unibet isn't.
