Heads Up OOP with AhAs v 78/42 VPIP/PFR (short-stacked) on Js6s6c board. V calls my 33% cbet. T: 9h. V shoves remaining 30BBs after my 33% cbet. (What I was hoping for.) I call. Shows Q6o. Bad play on my part? Or just poker. I had previously seen V twice call large river bets with bottom pair. I ran the numbers after session. I needed 25% equity to call. Had 60%. 56% after subtracting all V's draws. If V wasn't the player, V was. I might have folded. Emphasis on might, if it was the River. Think I have to call here otherwise. No? Trying to learn, thanks. R a brick.

You went with your read and lost. Doesn’t mean your read was bad, V was just stronger than he normally would be here. Don’t mind giving these types pots because you will win it back from them in droves.

78/42 will show up with 6x here ofc but will also do with this with Jx, some random pocket pair, or even air. Combine that with a favorable SPR and your overpair = call and be happy about it.

just poker

one change I would make is to size up a bit on the flop against this player type; we want our river bet to be as big as possible

You played as well as you could do you were fully in control of the situation try not to be results orientated over it.

Thanks, all. I thought I was good here but (very new) and wanted to check. And I did win part of it back from him. But before I could get more someone else creamed him and he left.
