Question:

Lets say I am 4-way pot. I hold AKs in the cutoff and I open with 3x raise. Second to act 3x the raise and two others call. Should I re-raise in this position?

Furthermore lets say I catch a 4 card flush on the river. Should I open? Let's say I check and second to act bets in and third to act goes all in, the fourth folds, I should obviously call? No pairs but a four card flush. Am I supposed to be pot committed at this point??

Sorry, please let me know tips to improve.

It depends on stack sizes and reads.

I don't understand what you are asking, a four card flush is not a flush, so you are saying you have A high on the river? Or are you saying there are 4 cards to a flush on the board and you hold AKss of that suit, so you have the nut flush?

What are the sizes of the stacks, and what reads do you have on the other players?

It depends on the stack depths, but with all that dead money in the middle, I'd be tempted to 4-bet jam. I don't really want to play this hand 4-way for 9bb. Like most hands, AKs maximises EV when heads up.

If you just call the 3-bet and see the flop 4-way, the pot will be about 36bb. Flopping the nut flush draw is about the best you can expect, but it's really tricky if there's a bet and shove, because calling would mean you're calling off your stack with a draw, and you're not even closing the action. It's better to be the shover, not the caller. All that said, you still need to look at stacksizes, since that's what will determine your pot odds. If everyone started with 100bb, you're not "committed" as such, as you've still got 91bb behind, but it might still be profitable to stack off, as there is so much money in the pot. On some board textures you won't be in great shape though. The player that jammed could have a set, and the c-bettor could have KK+, meaning you only have flush outs that don't pair the board. There are many things you need to consider. You don't play AKs the same way in every spot.

smaller stack move in pre flop.

after the flop move in then almost all stack sizes or check raise all in.
the times you win it right there are what makes it great. and even if called you really dont care. you cant play holdem afraid of someone flopping sets without very good info that his hand is a monster.

Welcome and good luck .. You sound very new to poker ...

Take a look at the strategy forums and pick the one that most represents what you are playing .. live or online and stake level. Spend some time just reading those and you will pick up on the basics for starting a thread like you have here.

One of the basic answer you will get when your question is too broad ... "It depends."

There are posters here who will understand that you are new and they are willing to help. Just make sure you are willing to listen or the comments can turn on you in a hurry. GL
