I'm looking to play online plo seriously. I am about to drop $3k online (usa site) and also looking to top up my bankroll once a week with $500. Should I still be utilizing the 100bi? Start at .10/.25? Or could I possibly go a little higher? I normally messed around in 2/4+ PLO and played 2/5-5/10 PLO LIVE (rec player). The drive to the casino is pretty far from me and I'm getting tired of it. Thanks!

Start with a limited shot to test whether you can beat the (correctly) lower levels you think you should be playing at. I honestly don't know the US online landscape but I would doubt it can sustain more than PLO100 without having a much stronger field than what'd crush your live games, where you don't even indicate that you're a winner

since you are not a pro, you can go a bit easier on bankroll requirements, but I would NOT try going below 50bi in PLO. I remember once losing 25bis over like 30 mins 4 tabling plo zoom, all standard spots (though some of them were deep)

I think 50-100 buy ins should be fine. So start at PLO $25 (I recommend Bovada/Ignition and Chico network), and then once you have a solid hand sample where you are winning you could move up to PLO $50. Then from there take shots when you have 50-75 buyins for the next limit.

Are you a winning player online?

You don't have to put your entire "bankroll" on to the site, btw, and if you were a winning player, you won't need to top it up with money from elsewhere. Just deposit however much you need to cover your buyins and the potential losses for a single day or a couple of days. In fact, for US-facing sites, I'd only deposit however much I can afford to lose completely.
e.g. If you were going to play 4 tables of 25PLO, you only need to start with about $250, because if you lost 10 buyins on the first day (which would be a somewhat standard downswing), you can just quit and redeposit the next day. Having $3k online might cause you to degen it all away by moving up to chase losses.

If you live in the USA and want to play PLO online I'd recommend Global Poker. I would suggest (seriously) that you start by dropping $400 on the site and start on the .02/.04 tables there (that's 100 buyins). Grind up to $1000, then move up to .05/.10 (in other words, until you have 100 buyins at the next level), grind that up to $2000 and play .10/.20 et al.

Honestly, I would give you this advice no matter what site you deposited your money on. For example, 3k would give you 100+ buyins at .10/.25 on Bovada, but why start at .10/.25 if you don't have to? Why not wait until you're sure you can beat .02/.05 and .05/.10?

Out of curiosity, can you tell us more about your background - what forms of poker have you played and where, what books have you read, what coaching have you receieved?

I've played on Global and I don't like it. I like to use HUDs and keep track. I've played on global for a bit and when I did I played 2/4, 3/6 and 5/10 on there. The beats were unreal and I cashed out $4k when I ran $500 up. I haven't played live in a while, its been about 3 months. But when I did play live plo, I played 2/5-5/10 and was easily beatable, there are a lot of fish's at the casino but I don't have the time to drive there and I work 6 days a week. I'm just looking to hopefully transition everything online. I've been playing on chico network and I like it a lot. I played a lot of live nlhe 2/5 recreationally(sp?) and was a winner, but haven't played live nlhe for a while.
