high stakes play money is gonna get a lot tougher now.. btw does the strategy of sitting out work in high stakes play money SNGs or is that just in the low buy ins?

I know that sitting out was a winning strategy a few years ago, but I don't think possible now, even at the lowest levels ... and certainly not at levels that need more than the free 1000 play chip buy-in.

those 500k play chips freerolls aren't bad at all... but you probably get more use out of selling them outright instead if you have that much

I think the one bit of knowledge that people are looking for is still unanswered... where/who do you sell that amount of play money to? Do you run your own site or do you have a couple of regular buyers?

Truth is I used to sell off a few mil here and there to grind it out at the micros, but I can't find a buyer these days.

old thread, but wanted to put in my 2¢ op.

i think a unique problem you have is that moving to a micro cash game will lower your earn rate at first, even if you are beating it.

i think you could skip this step by joining card runners, and a getting a little coaching. go right to 25NL or 50NL, whichever your coach recommends.

i would however stay off the play money tables when you start really working on your $ game. you should be playing one type of poker until you master it. i would recommend you even stay out of tourneys for a while.
