You can't--
There's no--

Why would they...
Couldn't possibly...

Where does the MONEY come in anyway? Who CHOOSES to buy play money? It's too stupid in too many ways to be real.

10-30-2009 , 08:16 PM

Not really.

Reasons why people buy play money:

>You can win real money with around half a mil or so
>Anyone under the age of 18 (can't legally play real money)
>Its fun?

This thread depresses me.

Actually, yes it can be. Once you get past the levels that can be bought into with a free reload, there are some fun games. Why do people play Monopoly? Why did people play MUDs (yeah I'm aging myself) Why do people play WoW?

At least, unlike WoW, its free.

Back in the day that I played a LOT of play chip poker at UB, there was a bunch of regulars that I knew, and the social aspects was a big part of the game.

He would have to sell 360 million in play chips to get $1800.

Nice work finding that many idiots willing to pay for play moneys!
10-31-2009 , 01:22 AM
right rakeback on FT, before you sign uup for money account, I do not think FT has better players at 50 100 NL than Stars, thats my opinion , there seem to be much tougher villans on stars??

1800 isnt enough to develop/ generate a profit to help with expenses like rent, you will have to wait for that until your roll is bigger. i dont think you should play that big, jump into the lower games until your confidence is higher.

did you really get 1800 clams from selling play money????? for reals?

If people want, I could do a youtube video (covering up parts of the screen of course) where I open the cashier window then zoom in and out and shake the laptop to prove it's not photoshop. And I'm thinking about braving the flames and posting it in BBV. I'm still surprised people aren't flaming me for playing play money.

Oh, and re: the rules...Full Tilt doesn't like two things...begging for chips in the chat box (though people do it anyway) and blatant chip dumping. So don't do those.

Well, I set-up a PayPal a few days ago for convenience...and I've run good and managed to get about $260 bucks in it so far while my play chip roll remains over 250 mill.

So I've now officially passed $2000.

So would this qualify as illegal gambling for a minor? Plays poker with no cash but then is able to sell the play money for real money on paypal. Hmmm...what do you guys think?

Sorry: Clever, but wrong in this case.

When Bill Gates plays poker at the Bellagio, he could easily afford to play in the Big Game. He simply enjoys playing at the lower stakes.

Also remember that a person’s bankroll shouldn’t necessarily represent his entire wealth. It makes more sense for the original poster to climb up the scale rather than test the Peter Principle.

OMFG, this is so epic.
10-31-2009 , 11:32 PM
I'm talking about someone who wants to take poker seriously Mike. and Bankroll obviously doesn't = wealth.
11-01-2009 , 02:09 AM
Where did you find the people to but the chips off you?
11-01-2009 , 02:46 AM
Damn... this is sick

Stuff going from play to real...
11-01-2009 , 04:39 AM
FT has tournaments that require like a million in play money chips to get into. The winner gets entries into other real money tournaments. Look for them the play money tournaments are there.
11-01-2009 , 07:33 AM
Sorry if I misunderstood you. My point is that if he takes learning poker seriously, he should start at the low levels and climb the ladder. To go from play money to 50 NLHE is too much of a jump.
